Minolta XG2 Auto winder G

The XG-2, 35mm SLR camera with automatic and full manual exposure control was introduced at the same time with the more professional model XD-11. Exposure meter is activated by a contact or pressure on "tough switch" shutter release. Metering is Full-aperture TTL center weighted type, by two CdS cells mounted on either side of the eye piece at the rear of the pentaprism. Both cameras have a similar, compact body styling. Body dimensions are 138x 89x 52mm (WxHxD) and they are much lighter than the mechanical SRT cameras which were still produced in 1977. The weight is 505g without a lens. Power source consists two 1,5v silver-oxide, SR-44 or equiv. The first XG camera was the XG7, released in October 1977. Minolta like also some other camera manufacturer had a practice of naming cameras differently in different markets, the body was called the XG E in Japan and the XG 2 in Europe. XG cameras had only a aperture priority mode compared to the optional shutter priority mode in Xd cameras.XG-2 operates on aperture-preferred and manual mode. An inconvenient feature is that the exposure meter turns off in manual mode and the camera lacks any non-battery-dependent shutter speeds.The lens in a picture is a Tamron 3,5-4,5/ 28-50mm Zoom Lens.
